Hard Working Wardrobe: 1 Top 3 Ways

I LOVE a top with a bright and cheerful print such as this Miu Miu one. Miucca Prada is the Queen of print, texture and sophisticated styling in my books!

A printed top is a great wardrobe staple that can work with a multitude of outfits from dressed up to pretty laid back and casual look. I have shown three ways to maximize a printed top NOT including the obvious black trouser/skirt combo that many of you will rely on for day-to-day in the office. Ps For your black combo, why not try a skirt or trouser with a little special detailing or a fabulous cut? There is no room for boring in our closets, great basics with beautiful details yes, but boring no!

For look 1, by mixing in a leather jacket you add a bit of toughness to this otherwise pretty print and palette, the juxtaposition I love. Wear with relaxed jeans and be super comfortable and equally cool. Make sure you bring it with the shoes. Always, and why not?! These ankle boots emphasize the most narrow part of your ankles extending your legs and creating slimness, the low thick heels means these are super comfortable and great for days with lots of walking. The patent brings a little shine which is needed with all the matt from the jeans and leather.

Taking from Miucca's playbook and working with a more feminine look, I've chosen a another print in this Johanna Oritz skirt (BIG designer at the moment). Miucca loves print on print and here we do it in an easy way by using similar tones and prints of a similar scale. I love this skirt with a peplum detail as they lend to the curves of a feminine shape but also create them where the body's lines are more straight and boyish. A great skirt all around! For the shoes, do something unexpected and bring a pop of bright in with an open back shoe. Unexpected here is totally expected. By keeping the accessories in the same palette you are able to add in texture and finishes to create a really sophisticated look. Play and have fun.

What about a hot day or Friday night drinks with the girls? This top is seriously good return for investment, taking you through any different social occasion in the diary. Break out your leather trousers (a fashion staple in my books) and some killer shoes with a super stylist bag. On the weekends I like to play with small or peculiar shaped bags. You can keep the rest of the look pretty simple with a fab bag and shoes and on a Friday sometimes that's just how I feel.

As mentioned, I LOVE this top and the versatility it lends. I could offer countless outfit ideas here and would wear this top until it is threadbare, guaranteed.
