Trends: What's with all this YELLOW?
Have you noticed lately a wealth of gorgeously luxurious clothing and accessories in shades of ochre, mustard and gold? The warmth and neutrality of these shades of yellow make them perfect wardrobe pieces.
Whether they take the showstopping position in your closet or become this season's workhorse basics, you need to take notice of yellow, as it's happening in a BIG way.
Why I Love SHADES OF Yellow
In its incarnations as you will see below, these tones and shades of yellow are the perfect non-colour colours.
What are Non-Colour Colours?
These are colours that work in any wardrobe regardless of the tones of the look they are being paired with. Say you want to wear black and greys, ochre is such an interesting complimentary colour that brings a energy to the look. Very cool when used in ultra masculine or feminine looks.
If your wardrobe is full of tans and camels, mustard is a fantastic way to bring a little zing to those neutrals. It's like a hyped up beige tone.
Why you should Invest in Non-Colours
Non-colours are not only super versatile and therefore workhorses, they also become your go-tos on the days you don't have the energy to put together a strong/dynamic/super stylish look. Add a pop of yellow to your outfit with a gold bag or handbag and instantly you have a point of interest. Or pair a marigold polo neck with a pair of plaid trousers or miniskirt, easy, chic and cool.
Test out my theory and play around with your wardrobe. Select a garment that you think wouldn't work and give it a try, I bet it does. Even millennial pink looks strikingly cool with a bit of Dijon huded suede mixed in.
mix in some 'honey' suedes for texture
Pure office 'gold'
